Your windows fog up horribly and sometimes you can hear what sounds like water running through your dash when your driving.
in my experience it is a slight leak in heater core it will be antifreeze causing this replace heater core and problem will be fixed
Anti-freeze smell inside vehicle when you turn on the heat. Greasy windshield from the anti-freeze leaking from the heater core while the heat is running. Also check the passenger side of the vehicle carpet under the carpet and check the heater core hoses under the hood of your vehicle for anti-freeze leaking at the fire wall where the heater core hoses go. That about covers it. If all checks out do a pressure test on your anti-freeze circuit and this will definitely bust the culprit of the leak. Last of all, if you have no leak and your heat is not working and the heater core is in circuit with the anti-freeze with no leaks, replace the heater core. C.S
when your feet are wet-(the core is leaking!)
Check your heater core. You may have the heater core leaking and if it continues it will not be long before it will begin to leak inside of the vehicle itself.
please tell me how to remove the heater to get too the heater coil
get a professional or it will explode due to unexperienced
If you try turn on the heat and a huge cloud of smoke fills your car, or you can smell burning anti-freeze....then you have a busted heater core.
There is no heat, it is leaking.
Sounds like you could have a leak in your heater core. Not positive on the location in the LeSabre, personally I am familiar with the Regal of that era where the the heater core is located under the dash on the passenger side along with the blower motor. Check the carpeting on the floor pan for any tell tale antifreeze. Follow your heater hoses and see where they lead you. If you have antifreeze in the heater box you need to change out the core. Sometimes after a flush you will dislodge sediment that previously had been blocking pin hole leaks in the heater core and you will spring a leak. You could try a radiator sealant but you will only delay the inevitable and possibly cause further problems.
Inside the vehicle, under the dash, passenger side, next to the firewall. Raise the hood and find the heater hoses going to the heater core. This will tell you the location inside the vehicle.
Usually, with a plugged heater core there will be a bit of heat but not very much..I've only seen a few so plugged that there was no heat. One way to tell is to (carefully) touch the heater hoses just where they go into the heater core. Both hoses should be about the same temperature. If not and the heater control valve is open - then the heater core being plugged is a very good possibility.
No. Even if the heater core was plugged completely, the water pump would not likely meet enough resistance to stall the engine (unless, maybe, it is barely running in the first place). Additionally, the coolant/antifreeze has another path to flow in, as long as the valve isn't stuck in the heater position. Also, "bad" heater core doesn't really indicate the problem/symptom. Is it leaking? is it not getting hot? Did it leak so much that you were out of coolant and the engine overheater and seized? Would you ever tell a doctor you had a "bad" foot, or would you tell him the exact problem you are having with it?
