you tell him you love him because thats what he needs at the moment. i tried to tell my mom that i wanted to kill myself and she just got really upset. When that happened all i wanted was her to hold me and tell me everything is going to be OK and that she loves me. Tell him that he means everything to you. you might not be telling him that enough. You make sure he know how much you love him and make sure he knows you will always be there for him no matter what. Now you really need to talk to a professional. you should be so thankful that he was able to tell you that, that means that he wants help. most kids who say they want to kill themselves fell like they do at that time but subconsciously they just want help. Talk to a school counselor or your pediatrician about options and make sure you do this fast. do not let this go on it will only get worse if you don't do anything about it.

People just think their lives are so bad to the point where they kill themselves. It really is sad to see these people in this state of mind. When someone is thinking of killing themselves, I sometimes tell them the problems I had and how I made it through them and I let them know I care even if I was a stranger to them. If you know someone who is suicidal, get them help right away! They may be mad at you but would you rather have them gone or save their life and have them be mad at you but forgive you later on?

Yes, some teenagers will do that to get attention but that does not go to every teenager. Most of the time when someone says they are depressed I can tell they are not trying to get sympathy because they would say stuff like, "I feel suicidal." Yes, you are probably thinking, "How can you tell? You are not a mind reader." You are right. I am not. But when someone is about to kill themselves, I take it very seriously and try to talk them out of it or get them help, even if they were to get mad at me for telling because I will not loose a friend.
