I replaced plugs and wires on my 94 TC after it had began to run sluggish, it had a jerking motion while accelerating up hills, and I did find one burnt spark plug electrode, but this did not help it run much better, so I bought 2 coil packs off Ebay for 50 bucks a pair.(very inexpensive compared to FoMoCo price @ $375). The 2 coil packs made a difference on both smooth idle and now it runs with more get up and go, better MPG. I now think the torque converter might be going out, but adding these new coil packs helped the car alot after it has 200K on the odometer. All original parts. (Don't these cars last forever? They're great!). It jerks only a little now while accellerating around 45 mpg, unlike before. The coils were easy to replace, just 4 screws and one electrical plug on each and then switch them out with new, took me 30 minutes of DYI. Just write a number the tops of the 4 plug wires so no mix-up, and you're set. You might try changing the wires and spark plugs if your car has as many miles as mine does, that's easy, too. I hope all these things help you.
