I own a 1993 camaro Z28 with the 5.7L motor. had mine rebuilt recently and it was a 4l60 (700R4). I believe in 1994 they changed over in the z28 to the electronically controlled auto tranny which is designated 4l60E. You can check your RPO codes in the glovebox to tell you what tranny You have. They also tell you what axle ratio the car has and lots of other thngs. There is a website on the net You can go to to match the codes. Just google Camaro RPO codes and you should find it.
