I wouldn't bet on a sensor necessarily, this is a job to be troubleshot by a professional independent garage. An ignition module come to mind however among many other possibilities.

I have a 92 lumina euro that did that and it turned out to be my crank sensor. The problem could also be the Torque Converter Clutch, bad plugs and wires, distributer cab, low idle could cause this to.
Check the map sensor.
I had same symptoms on 92 lumina. replaced. fuel pump,sensors,everything. turned out being the fuel regulater located under the plentom. check the plastic line leading to it for fuel in line and replace regulater.after 9 months of trying it was fixed.
Replace the engine coolant temp sensor.
Im not aware of a council service that starts with X.
odds are the sensor needs to be replaced
