There is no procedure without disabling the entire airbag system because there is no legitimate reason to do so.
There should be a slot on the dash marked passenger airbag. You will have to use the ignition key to turn it on.
happened to my 2007.. i got it recalibrated.. dealer told me not to put and bags or heavy objects on the seat, it throws off the sensor.. the airbag will turn off if you put about 60 pounds or lessm which is supposed to replicate a young child. ----
it is located behind the sift gear between the driver seat and the passenger seat

There is a problem with the SRS. This should still be under warranty. Take it back to your GM dealer for repair.

The Kelley Blue Book does not list the resale value of a 2007 Ford Fiesta. Fiesta values are only available for years after 2011.
That light either indicates that the airbag is on/off. The passenger seat has a smart sensor within it which senses the weight and position of what/who is in the seat. Coupled with/without seat belt usage it will turn on/off depending on exact situation in that seat as to function or not based on it's calculated determination.
Car manufactures these days make their vehicles very complicated so people will have to pay for anything modified on their vehicles. They put airbags in vehicles to protect their passengers. A child thirteen years or younger is not supposed to sit in the front seat while an active airbag is in front of them. The only way you can disengage an air bag in your ford focus, would be to take off the front dash to expose the airbag and to take it out manually. It is more work then it is worth. I personally don't think it is worth it to try it yourself or even pay to have this done. I'd suggest just making your child sit in the backseat for safety reasons.
