maybe Adam was going to die regardless and eating the fruit just made him aware of the knowledge that he was going to die, therefore it makes it real to him after eating but not a part of his reality before he could be aware of death and that it was a part of living.

God's command was for man to multiply fill the earth?

Why would God command that man multiply and fill the earth and at the same time not supply adequate food and resources too keep people from dying terrible deaths? More specifically, God said, " .. be fruitful and multiply upon the earth". An analogy, to 'be fruitful' means for man to have and raise families. To 'multiply upon the earth' means to populate the earth. To paraphrase, when God was finished creating the earth He then said, " Now you may start having families, by doing so you will be populating the earth".

What was the first command given by God in the work of creation?

The very first commandment to mankind occurred in Genesis 2:16 - And the Lord God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."

Does God command people to have children?

No. Not so fast! Go to the Bible, Genesis 1.27 &28:"So God created man... ; male and female he created them. And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, ....". Unless I'm mistaken, that means have children!

Why does the Bible say to Adam and Eve go forth and replenish the earth if they were the first humans?

The command to "be fruitful and multiply" given to Adam and Eve in the Bible was meant as an instruction to populate and fill the earth with their descendants. They were the first human beings created by God and were tasked with the responsibility of starting the human race.

What one command did God give Adam?

The first command given to man by God appears at Genesis 1:28 - "Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth." (New World Translation)This command, as worded in this verse, was not given to Adam by name ("And God proceeded to create the man in his image, in God's image he created him; male and female he created them." - (Gen. 1:27)) However, this command was given before the end of His six creative "days", after which he declared that everything was good, so it is reasonable to infer that he had given this command to Adam and Eve before they sinned. They were the only humans living that that time. However, there are two creation accounts in Genesis, merely told in a different narrative. Genesis chapter two does not repeat the command to "Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth". The first job God gave Adam in Genesis 2 was to name the animals. (Gen. 2:19)Another perspective:Unless you see the command to "be fruitful" as a "job," Adam's first job was "Gardener of Eden." Genesis 2:15 - Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.[NKJV]

Current population trends of Jews?

Due to assimilation, Jewish populations in the Western world are seeing a slow decline. Two exceptions are: the religious Jews wherever they are, because of the Divine command to be fruitful; and the Jews in Israel, where the population is increasing.
