After the world war, USA immediately got engaged in cold war with Soviet Union. As a result USA played an important role in global politics, specially in Europe, South East Asia and Pacific. In a frenetic effort to control spread of communism USA engaged in a number of full scale and limited conflicts like Korean war and Vietnam War. USA also funded anti-communist conflicts like Afghanistan war against USSR. A lot of investment economical and political was done in many countries like Pakistan, Turkey, Iran etc.

∙ 16y agoi believe the position of the us after World War II was seated among the highest superpowers in the world. along with russia and the United Kingdom we won world war II along with the other allies and de-throned Germany. before WWII we were in the depression and the war sparked the opportunity for many jobs on the homeland which in turn produced more money for the us which gave us a strong economical base along with a strong military power. alot of luxary items were becoming more commercial after WWII so the people that went through the depression that had to live with nothing began buy and selling these items to furthmore boost our economy. the baby boom was another event that occured just after WWII i dont know if that really helps
