In WWI? The German's wanted to march through Belgium into northern France to attack them from behind. They wanted to prevent a two front war (France and Russia) by taking France out fast. They hoped that they could go through with no resistance because Belgium was a neutral country. Belgium, however, did not appreciate this, so they put up a small resistance to the German forces. This gave the French some time to assemble their forces in the north. The Germans were delayed by three days, so when they finally broke into France, they were put down quickly by the French fighters.

Yes. There were more Jews than there were high-ranking members of the Nazi Party. However, the Wehrmacht (the German Army) was much larger than either group. The reason that the Nazis were able to commit the atrocities that they did was that there was minimal resistance to their plans and the Jews were unarmed, which made them easier targets.
Yes they did, also alot more than aircraft technology as well, the german's had schematics for stealth, rocket and intercontinental missiles, they also had plans for a "flying saucer" which was built and tested, however, most of this technology was destroyed but the americans stole the plans and even bought in german scientists to work at groom lake nevada where the german's developed the V2, later developments were the F117 nighthawk and SR71 blackbird and the apollo space program, this all spawned from german advancements in missile, aircraft and weapon technology.

How did the realities of the new world affect the plans of colonizers?
Have a look at the related question, which should answer some aspects of this. Since 1905 Germany had been systematically challenging Britain and France in an attempt to become a world power. Further evidence of German expansionism is to be found in the plans for large annexations of Belgian and Polish territory, including 'ethnic cleansing' (by famine) of the annexed area of Russian Poland. However, it seems that these plans were formulated in September 1914, a few weeks after the outbreak of World War 1.
