Its hard to say how he really felt because obviously we werent in his mind. He was probobly confused no scratch that definately confused because instead of know where he was he thought he was in India(thus marking the indian name) hope this helps

He was arrogant, conceited, superior and violent. He demanded submission, enslaved the native people he encountered in the Caribbean and killed those who would challenge him or his men. Most of the native peoples he encountered ended up dying of How_did_Columbus_react_to_the_native_people_he_encounteredbrought by these European people, as the natives had no immunity to them, whereas Columbus and his crew did have immunity (to the point that they would contract various Infectious Diseases but not necessarily die from them).
