George W. Bush (the more recent of the G Bushes) had a father who before becoming president in 1989 was director of the CIA (in 1976) and had ample time to gather all sorts of dirt on anyone who conceivably threaten his son's presidency. Furthermore G. W. 's brother was Governor of Florida (that was important when it came to recounting votes!) and his cousin is head of FOX news which was important in declaring the winner of the elections. It certainly reeks of oligarchy and nepotism here. Just like the Banana Republics in Central America.

He served as Congressman, chairman of the national Republic Party, chief liaison to China and Directer of the CIA when people began to consider him for President. Ronald Reagan chose him as his running mate and they were elected twice, so he was nominated for President when Reagan's term was up.Reagan was still popular and Bush won the election by following his footsteps.
