He didn't. God gave the Israelites water (Exodus ch.15, ch.17, and Numbers ch.20).
Moses transmitted the people's request for water to God. Each time, God told Moses to do a certain act (throwing a stick into bitter water; hitting a stone; speaking to a stone), and then God miraculously provided water.

Where was the place Moses struck the rock twice because his faith was weak?

This was at Meribah (also known as Kadesh-barnea) and is South-West of the Dead Sea in the top corner of the Sinai peninsula:-Numbers 20:7-13 13 Then the LORD spoke to Moses:8 "Take the staff and assemble the community, you and Aaron your brother, and then speak to the rock before their eyes. It will pour forth its water, and you will bring water out of the rock for them, and so you will give the community and their beasts water to drink."9 So Moses took the staff from before the LORD, just as he commanded him.10 Then Moses and Aaron gathered the community together in front of the rock, and he said to them, "Listen, you rebels, must we bring water out of this rock for you?"11 Thenraised his hand, and Mosesstruck the rock twice with his staff. And water came out abundantly. So the community drank, and their beasts drank too. 12 Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, "Because you did not trust me enough to show me as holy before the Israelites, therefore you will not bring this community into the land I have given them."13 These are the waters of Meribah, because the Israelites contended with the LORD, and his holiness was maintained among them.

What did God give his people from a rock?

I assume you are asking about the old testament story where God told Moses to speak to a rock and water would spring from it. Instead Moses struck the rock with his staff and then water began to flow. So the answer to your question is water.

What god gave his people from a rock?

Manna? God ordered Moses to speak to the rock and it would gush forth with water. Instead, Moses struck the rock with his staff. God still provided water to the people, but Moses' punishment for disobeying what Jehovah had spoken was he would not be allowed into the promised land.

Did Moses hit the rock 3 times?

No, he hit the rock 2 times and he said to the people", Do I have to give you food and water? ". But well it was actually God who gave it to the people through Moses

Where did Moses strike the rock for water instead of talking to it?

It occurred in the wilderness. In terms of where in the Bible it occurs, this is Numbers chapter 20. Numbers 20:7-12 (NIV): 7 The Lord said to Moses, 8 "Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. You will bring water out of the rock for the community so they and their livestock can drink." 9 So Moses took the staff from the Lord's presence, just as he commanded him. 10 He and Aaron gathered the assembly together in front of the rock and Moses said to them, "Listen, you rebels, must we bring you water out of this rock?" 11 Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank. 12 But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, "Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them."

What was Moses' sin?

He did not believe God. The context was when Moses struck a rock when God had told him to speak to the rock (in order to bring forth water for the nation of Israel). Moses struck the rock because he was frustrated with the people constantly griping and complaining and he was getting tired of them. God consituted it a sin because Moses made the mistake of acting as if the people were offending him personally when it was God they were testing. Read Numbers 20:1-13

Where does it say in the Bible the punishment Moses got for striking the rock twice?

We are aware that Moses struck the rock twice. One, Moses struck the rock out of anger and the other time he struck the rock to provide water. When did Moses actually speak to the rock is the question. God asked Moses to speak to rock.
