He spent much of his life dedicated to equal rights for black people in America. He inspired masses of people, and not even just black people, but whites and other races who wanted equal rights for all too. He organized boycotts, made speeches, was arrested, and more, all of which helped the cause by showing their dedication. He was a key person in the creation of rights for all Americans that we have today. Not only did he do this, but he did it all through peaceful means called civil disobedience. He showed the world that you can make a difference, and you can change a bad situation without violence and bloodshed. Although he himself and most other equal-rightists faced violence from both mobs and government officials, they stuck it out and set an example for their cruel oppressors by not fighting back in the face of hatred, and much of their actions were because MLK continuously urged peace. He was a visionary who sadly was murdered before he could see his goal reached, but his actions during life echoed through the nation and would leave a lasting legacy in our country and perhaps throughout the rest of the world as an example of peaceful change and freedom.
