How did Muhammad discover Islam?

However, Islam per God revelation of Quran to prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through the angel Gabriel (or Jibril) started in year 610 AD and continued to year 632 AD (when prophet Muhammad died)

Islam is not a physical object to be discovered. It is a religion that its name Islam means submission to God and surrender to God will. Accordingly, Islam started by start of universe creation as all God creations are created on the principle of full submission (Islam) to God.

no body discovered this religion. It was the best religion chosen by Allah (God in English) ,the greatest of all, for the whole world. And it was present at the time of Adam and Eve (peace be upon them). They preached it and God kept sending his messengers to continue the message of peace and praying to one God (that means Islam). Nothing in Islam religion is called Mohammedanism. It is a naming called by non Muslims to refer Islam to prophet Muhammad the same way they refer Christianity to the Chrest. Islam is a word that means full surrender and submission to God, the Creator. So, prophet Muhammad; and all God prophets; also are Muslims and call for Islam in this sense.

I am not Muslim, so I may have some facts wrong. A man had a rich wife and prayed a lot. He would go out and he prayed almost all day long. One day he heard a voice of Gabriel. He tells him to tell others there is only one god. When he does so, he is laughed at by others. He still continues to share this. People wanted to throw him out of the city, but her wife was rich. When the wife dies, the men threw him out. He goes to another city and he shares it again. This time he succeeds. After many years, he goes back and the people welcome him again.
