With his newly created Tesla coils, the inventor soon discovered that he could transmit and receive powerful radio signals when they were tuned to resonate at the same frequency. When a coil is tuned to a signal of a particular frequency, it literally magnifies the incoming electrical energy through resonant action. By early 1895, Tesla was ready to transmit a signal 50 miles to West Point, New York.
People in several countries were experimenting with the idea of radio transmission. Hertz in Germany annd Marconi in England were among the most prominent. Guglielmo Marconi invented the first functioning transmitting/receiving radio in about 1895, somewhere in Britain. The first factory producing radios was in Chelmsford, UK in 1898, by Marconi's The Wireless Telegraph & Signal Company.
Interesting Footnote to history: In 1943, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Marconi's patent in favor of Tesla's, so technically speaking Tesla was the inventor of radio.
The radio patent history had an argument as who made it first. Marconi was given a patent on the radio but latter on, it was found that Marconi used some patents of inventions by Tesla. That Tesla also demostrated radio basics in lectures and the patent was given to it's rightfull owner.
Based on that, the radio was invented in New York, United States of America.
Guglielmo Marconi is usually credited with the development of radio, not Tesla. Tesla is more known for patenting an AC induction motor, which became the basis for many electrical applications. Tesla experimented with wireless power transmission, seeking to compete with existing radio communication.
Nikola Tesla
Nikola Tesla
Answer, never! Marconi used 17 pattens of Nikola Tesla to send his famous letter "s". United States Supreme Court gave back the Nobel prize and the honor to Nikola Tesla in the 1940s Nikola Tesla invented the first radio controlled boat. Go back further and you will find Hertz. He actually had created the first transistor and receiver but Nikola Tesla perfected it. Thank you Hertz for your discoveries and Nikola Tesla for perfecting our wireless phones, Remote control, radio controlled anything" Please research your history!
As early as 1892, Nikola Tesla created a basic design for radio. On November 8, 1898 he patented a radio controlled robot-boat. Tesla used this boat which was controlled by radio waves in the Electrical Exhibition in 1898, Madison Square Garden. Nikola Tesla is now credited with being the first person to patent radio technology; the Supreme Court overturned Marconi's patent in 1943 in favor of Tesla. He understood waves and how to control them so he made his inventions.
Tesla had it first. A mysterious fire put that on hold but it was known because he did lectures on the radio. Marconi used 17 patents granted to Tesla to make his radio. Tesla let him go ahead and work his company but the patent was granted to nikola Tesla.
Nikola Tesla had inventions that have to do with wireless technology. He did not invent telophone cables.

Nikola Tesla
1931
As early as 1892, Nikola Tesla created a basic design for radio. This was before Marconi. As a mystery, his lab caught fire and Marconi was the first to be awarded the patent. Authorities realized that Marconi used Tesla's patent to make his radio and the patent was granted back to Tesla in 1943.
Nikola Tesla had his ac motors ready and patented in 1890.
Nikola Tesla
1899
Nikola Tesla invented things like electrical generators, FM radio, remote control, robots, spark plugs, fluorescent lights, and giant machines that shoot enormous, brain-frying lightning bolts. He
New York Tesla demonstrated "the transmission of electrical energy without wires" as early as 1891. When Tesla was 41 years old, he filed the first basic radio patent (No. US645576). The year was 1897.
The problem there was, Marconi filed a patent on the radio using some Tesla's patents. Before he came out with his "invention", Tesla showed the principal for the radio and showed his descriptions in front of students. The patent was removed from Marconi and granted to Nikola Tesla. Anyways, Marconi's radio had a very short range and Tesla's radio had a much longer range.
