lincon knew that this war was going to seperate the united states. since the southern states (confederate) wanted to keep their slaves they agreed to go to war. after they lost the war the african americans got their freedom. most of them moved to the north because the north was a slave free territory. but lincon didnt bring them back by throwing a party they just surrenderd in.
