colonialists use trees as an important resource.they were fully involved in wars. thus there was an increase in demand for wood.so they cut trees to make weapons, machines and even transports.they also used trees for ship building because during that time most of the parts of ships were made of wood.in India they used trees for making railway tracks throughout the country.
