The effect that Communism has had upon Russia since the successful 'Revolution of 1917' is difficult to overstate, as it resulted in an entirely new government, social structuring, and values-system for the Russian people. In addition, the rise of the Soviet Union into super-power status after World War II had an additional effect on its people as well as on the world. Despite the fall of the Soviet Union in the 1990s, Communism continues to have an effect on Russia as a kind of general inspiration and influence in the current government and social organization.

Marxism said class tensions would cause revolutions. Well, more people became poor than people that became rich. The poor rebelled against the rich. Much like how America is doing. For the past 30 years this has been happening in America. If we dont change our ways, we could be in for another revolution

Russia was never Communist (which would mean a classless stateless society based on production for use). The Bolshevik coup ushered in a state capitalist system.
