Country Music can have an influence on society in a similar way that society tends to have an influence on country music. The lyrics of the songs could influence people to do things such as what type of car to drive or how to live their life.
Most people can identify with country music as part of everyday life. Family, love, finding love, losing love, drinking, cheating, hurting, happiness, and God and country just to name a few.
I guess one example you might accept is when in 1975, Loretta Lynn recorded her hit, "The Pill." About a wife who was always having children, while her husband would go out and party and see other women. Birth Control was a big issue in the 1970's, and divided the country. Many country radio stations banned the song from airplay, because it was considered too hot of a subject.
But, preachers would speak against it on Sunday, and the Church Members would go out and buy the record on Monday, just to see what all of the fuss was about. The song was a big money maker, a hit on the charts. But, most of all the majority of women supported Loretta.

Being a country boy, I would say one reason is because if you're raised on it from childhood, you may enjoy other types of music but, country music stays in your heart. Other reason could be that country music has been around since the founding of the United States. Another reason could be that country songs are not as quickly forgotton as in other types of music. Also, kids tend to relate to the country music videos that various artists release, and they relate to the messages of the songs. my whole family likes country music i was grew up with it and forced to listen to it i am a rocker i hate country music it sucks!!!! Another reason would be that, A child doesn't really care what they are listening to as long as it's not loud or has a very minor like tone, so they can withstand listening to crap like country music.
