We can make it in paper and scan it. Design a page in Microsoft Publisher and insert the scanned picture. and if you are doing on your own, you do lots of pages but if you are not doing your own, you gather your work and make it stick on publisher. you can copy your page and stick in to a page that all of you put it. and you print it on a grey thin paper. Before computers were invented, newspapers were made using manual typesetting processes with metal or wooden type. Printers would arrange individual pieces of type into lines and pages by hand, which were then inked and pressed onto paper. This labor-intensive process required skilled craftsmen and was time-consuming compared to modern digital printing methods.

Most people didn't get "news" of happenings in far-off lands back in the days before newspapers. Back then, "most people" were farmers who lived close to the land, and were primarily concerned with not starving. They cared about their crops and their cattle, and that took all day and sometimes into the night. And even if there had been newspapers available, most people couldn't read.

Important happenings might be communicated by official messenger; a horse and rider from London or Paris would ride into town and announce the birth of a new prince, or a declaration of war or of peace, and the "news" would be passed by word of mouth - by gossip - until everybody had heard it. Traveling minstrels and entertainers carried gossip and more salacious current events around the countryside; some of it may even have been remotely accurate. Some "news" was delivered from the pulpit; the priest or minister would announce it at church, and since most people went to church regularly, the important news filtered down.

But the average peasant or serf was as ignorant of happenings 100 miles away as he was of the events on the far side of the globe - or the far side of the Moon.

Before there were telephones, newspapers relied on the telegraph for national stories. Each newspaper had its own telegraph machines and operators (called telegraphers). News was transmitted from places all over the country back to the main office of the newspaper. And like today, newspapers got local news by sending out reporters. For example, Baseball and other sports were covered by a number of well-respected men (women sports reporters came much later) who traveled with the team; they even included a sports cartoonist. The reports were sent back to the newspaper via telegraph if the reporters were on the road, or the reporters went back to the paper and filed their stories in person if they were covering something local.

Newspapers also used something called the "exchange." This meant that every day, newspapers from each city would send their paper to other cities, usually by train; an "exchange editor" would look through the various newspapers from other cities and decide which stories might be of interest. These stories would then appear, with the original paper attributed. For example, the Boston Globe might use a story from the Chicago Tribune, and that paper would be cited as the source of the article (much as students and researchers are supposed to cite their sources even today).
