They had pretty much the same transportation methods we have today -- cars, trains, ships, airplanes, etc. Of course, they were more old-fashioned verisons of those things. There were some other differences too. For example, traveling by airplane was still new enough to be considered a "big deal", whereas now it's something that people don't even think about. There were also some methods of transportation which became less popular in later years, such as trolley cars and zeppelins.
