Unfortunately, the Natives sided with the french in the french and Indian wars against English and the Americans and were slaughtered just the same.

A lot of them died. Most, if not all, were displaced. Their homeland's resources were destroyed. Their culture was lost if not hidden away. Their languages were lost. Some were enslaved.
