America has many cultural, economic and military influence over other countries. Like the British Empire, wide expansion is its primary motive. The concept of empire was first brought in by the President James K. Polk. Direct rule over the conquered large territory is an empire. America has grown into a powerful nation and acts unilaterally. It has large control over international laws and international organizations with growing global dominance.
