As part of the Christianizing of Spain, Jews who openly remained Jewish were expelled from the country. Many died in the process, and everyone else was uprooted. Some of those who pretended to be Christian in order to remain in the country, later were able to slip out.

Did the Inquisition affect Jews in the UK And how many Jews are now living in the UK?

There are two questions here:Did the Inquisition affect Jews in the UK?No. The Inquisition did not affect the Jews in England or Scotland (the UK would not exist until the Act of Union of 1707), primarily because there were none. There were no Jews in Scotland in any sizeable number prior to the 1600s and the Jews were banished from England in 1290 and did not return to the England until the 1650s. Since the Inquisition started in the 1490s and continued in strong force for only another century, it had no effect in England or Scotland. When the Jews did return, England was Anglican and Scotland was Presbyterian, which meant that the Catholic Inquisition had no effect there. How many Jews are there in the UK?Depending on whose estimates you use, the number is anywhere between 260,000-295,000, with more general stress towards the lower end of that scale.

The court of the Inquisition. And it generally persecuted Conversos, not Jews who remained Jewish.

What forced conversion by christian church in Spain?

I believe what you are referring to is the Spanish Inquisition. The Inquisition was a mandate by King Ferdinand II and Queen Isabella that all citizens of Spain must convert to Catholicism, leave, or be killed. At the time, Spain had been occupied by Catholics, Jews, and Muslims. This took place from 1480 to 1834.

How many people were executed by the Inquisition?

Roman Catholic Answer: Few Jews died during the Spanish Inquisition. As a matter of fact, despite the overheated hype developed by anti-Catholics during the last several centuries, very few people died during the Inquisition. As for Jews, the Inquisition only had authority over professed Catholics. In Spain, at that time, there were not a few Jews who "converted" to the Catholic Church for one reason or another. St. Teresa of Avila came from a family of Jews who had converted. Those who used their conversion for purely political reasons, and were not sincere Catholics came under investigation by the Inquisition, but, even then, very few were turned over to the State - only the State had the authority to execute anyone, and anyone turned over to the state for treason was always accompanied by a plea for mercy. How did Isabella I make all of Spain Catholic?

First they established the Inquisition in 1478. This was initially intended to assure that Muslims in conquered area did, indeed, convert to Christianity. In 1492 they defeated the last Muslims in Spain. The Muslims could either convert or leave. Later they simply expelled the Muslims. Finally they expelled the Jews. Later the nature of the Inquisition changed and it became much harsher.
