Open the trunk. In there, remove the 5 nuts holding the tail light bezel in place. That allows you to lift off the whole red plastic bezel from the outside. Twist brake light socket about 1/4 turn, and pull it straight out.

Slowly remove the assembly and twist the defected bulb housing counter-clockwise and pull off the faulty bulb. This procedure for removal is ineffective.. It does not show how the red exterior lense can be remove to expose the light brake socket for removal of the lamp.You cannot twis the bulb assembly and pull in a Lincoln Continental 2000.The access to the light bulb is to remove the exterior lense. Perhaps a refinement on how to will many on how to replace brake lighs.
