Normally both wheels on a single axel revolve at an identical rate. Vehicles with auto-locking hubs have sensors that monitor the speed of each wheel independently. If a speed differential is detected meaning if one wheel begins to spin faster or slower than the other wheel, a solonoid (switch) is activated releasing the hubs such that they can spin in and lock. Because only one wheel has torque at any time, if there is a differential speed between the 2 wheels, it means that the torque wheel has broken loose.
It's just a matter of removing the 6 hex bolts an pull it out. Then, grab the spare hubs and bolt them in. Yea, indeed all Suzuki hubs fit.

No you can not.
i have a 1994 f 150 with auto locking hubs and i made the mistake of greasing them. when i made a test run it sounded like gears grinding, i found out soon that on auto hubs you soak them in automatic transmission fluid. MERCON AUTO FLUID WORKS FINE.
that's a stupid question, auto 4wd hubs have no place to put the locks that engage the 4wd, that's why its called auto 4wd, so u don't have to get out of ur car and lock them in
The best way to repair an auto locking hub is to throw it away and get manual hubs. You will get better mileage and when you lock them in you know the hubs are locked in.
Hi, I for one would like to know if you are asking about manual or auto hubs? The manual hubs are real simple but the auto hubs are a bit more. Please let us know what you have and I'll get back as soon as I know. Steve H.
I put auto hubs in place of my manual ones on my 92 kick. there is a plate held by 4 screwes behind the hub that must be removed b4 the auto hubs will mount. but that is the only trick to it. do not remove the axle locking screws by accident our you will have one. 97has spring lock but other years be careful.
I believe it is clockwise to lock but i have searched this and no one is saying anything
If the hubs are stuck in the lock position you will have to remove them and try to clean them and put fresh grease in them check the springs make shure they are not broken or tenson is gone out of them best idea is to swap them for warn manual hubs as the auto hubs are known for not working properly, i changed mine over to the warn manual locking hubs you can get the kits off e-bay
if the hubs are working properly all u do is shift transfer case back to 2WD if hubs are not releasing you will have to check the hubs best idea change the auto hubs for warn manual locking hubs
If You have Manual Locking Front Hubs, Then the 4 wheel drive will not work/drive the front 2 wheels at all without, Locking-Them-In . Do Not Lock and use the 4 wheel drive on Dry Pavement.
