How do horses get their energy?

Horses get nutrients and oxygen to their cells in the body via the bloodstream. As the horse eats it gains nutrients from the food(providing the food is of good quality) and this then gets digested and absorbed in different places in the digestive system(fibre is absorbed in the caecum, etc.). As it is absorbed the nutrients go into the bloodstream and is carried around the body and put into cells that need nurishing. When the horse breathes in oxygen and other elements get transported to the lungs. The lungs are full of blood capillaries, this is how it gets into the bloodstream it then goes to the heart and the heart pumps it around the body. So specifically, the heart pumps the nutrients and oxygen in arteries which contain blood to the cells. The arteries become smaller and branch out like a tree into veins then capillaries.
