This procedure s fairly generic so it should suit most makes of vehicle, but you should always consult your vehicle manual for acurate servicng and to help you locate parts specific to your vehicle.
* First remove the Radiator cap. * Un-do the bottom radiator hose clamp with a screw driver or spanner.
(either at the engine block side or radiator side which ever is easier to access)
* Next remove the hose from the outlet by manipulating it with your hands (boiling water poured on the outside of the hose can help here) * Let all the fluid run out of the radiator and engine block (into a recepticle for diluted disposal in garden)
Job done.
If you were to refill the radiator...
* Flush the radiator out with a hose from top to bottom until the water exiting runs clear
To be thourough you should also remove the thermostat and flush the engine block from the top (and replace the thermostat with a new one).
* Refit the hoses and tighten hose clamps.
* Slowly refill the cooling system with a decanter of water and engine coolant
* Check all hose clamps are tight and start engine - leaving the radiator cap off.
* run engine till it reaches standard opperating temperature or beyond and all air has escaped the sytstem this part is very important.
* once it has returned to standard operating temperature replace radiator cap.
* carry water in your car and watch the temperature guage while driving.
* In the days following the flush recheck the hoses and level of radiator to ensure the fluid doen't leak out. Good luck...
