ive never worked on that truck but it should be a cable clutch. you will have to get under the truck with acouple wrenches. there should be a lever stickout of of the trans by the front of it. there will be a cable hooked to it and there should be 2 nuts near it. break them both free and tighten the other one. tighten the locking nut and boom. be carefull you dont want too much or too little adjustment because you will either be riding the clutch or it wont disengage enough
The quickest way is to adjust the clutch is at the clutch lever. You will notice where the clutch cable enters the top of the clutch lever. There are adjusting nuts there and two of them are longer and have a slit in the side. You loosen all nuts and align the two with the slit so that they form a straight line. Now you tighten the main adjusting nut until you can feel and see that as soon as you pull the clutch lever the wire inside the cable moves and the clutch begins to disengage. At this point you tighten the adjustment nut and disalign the two nuts with the slit. Fasten well. Drive the motorcycle around the block to see how the clutch works, then re-adjust if necessary. It is important that there is no marked dead play or slack in the clutch cable.
There is no adjustment of the pump. You can adjust belt tension, by loosing and adjusting tension with the bolts holding it in place, but that is all.
If your replacing the clutch you shouldn't need to bleed anything. But you probly should adjust it, I'm prety sure the 86 has a cable clutch, which is easy to adjust. if you happen to have a hydrolic clutch you should bleed it just to make sure.
not if its the same as my 84 the fluid compartment by left hand is for brake fluid and behind clutch handle there is 2 wires going in means its electric clutch like mine right now im trying to figure out how to adjust it to get more clutch
The 1986 Honda Prelude does not have a clutch cable. The 1986 Prelude has a hydraulic clutch instead of the clutch cable.
