i would have expected it to be the plugs but since that doesn't seem to be the case it could be a vacuum leak. check hoses and intake manifold for leaks
usually this means that your solenoid needs to be changed
You probably replaces the purge solenoid on the intake, you want the vent solenoid at the canister.

Bad battery, bad solenoid, bad cables.
A provisional diagnosis is a temporary or tentative diagnosis made by a healthcare professional based on initial assessment and available information. It serves as a starting point for further investigation and may be confirmed, refined, or changed as more information becomes available through additional tests and evaluations.
Solenoid could be installed incorrectly. Could be electrical connection on the solenoid. Did you re-connect the battery? Could be a bad starter motor...or a stuck starter motor. Sometimes a light tap or two on the starter motor (not the solenoid) with a hammer will free it up.
If your '99 Maxima will not start even after you have changed the starter, you might have a dead battery or a bad starter solenoid. You could also have an empty gas tank.
Check the 96 Caddys starter solenoid. Also check the wiring between the battery and the solenoid for any breaks or loose connections.
I had two changed on my 2000 Avalon, and I paid about $350, parts and labor.
The main reason for the change of the terms is peoples fears. The term manic depressive seems harsher and depression may not be the best terms to describe the disorder.
It "CAN", but why would you want to? The contacts in the solenoid wear at about the same rate as everything else inside the starter. If the solenoid is bad you'll be better off just replacing the whole thing because the brushes or bushings will be going next then you'll get to remove/replace the starter again.
Run a compression test.
