Sadly, you will need a rebuild or a new/used tranny.
You can try the Lucas Transmission oil, it claims to stop slipping, but did not work in my 97 Malibu. I ended up trading it off, too expensive to fix.

On our 1995 Grand Prix, the second gear start is automatic in adverse road condtions (Ice, Snow & Rain) I was told that when the wheels spin, it enables the Second Gear Start to provide better traction and power to the drive wheels. on the left hand side of dash panel down at the bottom
The 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix gear selector wire can be found beneath the center console. The gear selector wire will go to the instrument panel.
It simply means that "Second Gear Start" has been turned on. The switch is by your left knee on the dash, under the headlight knob. This starts your car out in second gear. Best used in snowy weather.
There is a switch on the dash or shift console that turns this feature on and off. When it is on, the light on the dash comes on, and the transmission leaves out first gear, starting in second from a dead stop. This is great for icy winter conditions.
Original belt? If so, the rubber's gone hard and is slipping.
Check low on the dash by the driver's left knee. There should be a button labeled as such to turn on and off this function of the transmission. It's for icy weather.
