First, remove the front wheel well liners from the front bumper. This will enable you to access the bumper retaining bolts. Take the new bumper cover and make sure it is primed before the paint is applied. Clean the entire bumper cover with wet sandpaper to remove any contaminants or other imperfections. Apply a basecoat to the entire bumper cover, and let the paint dry completely. Apply a clear coat to the entire bumper cover next, and then take a few minutes to check for dirt in the paint. If any dirt has found its way into the paint, remove any large dirt with a sharp razor blade. Soak some 1500 grit sandpaper in soapy water, and add some of the soapy water to a spray bottle. Spray the water on the painted surface. Use a sandpaper block to evenly apply pretty when sanding, and sand the area in a circular motion until the dirt is removed. Repeat this sanding process with 2000 grit sandpaper soaked in soapy water. Wipe the cover down next with an alcohol water mixture, and take some more time to inspect for dirt. Use a polish compound to remove any swirl marks from the sanding, and reinstall the bumper cover.
