I was just talking to a guy about this today. He had replaced the lock/latch mechanism on the tailgate of a trailblazer and after replacing, it still didnt work. So he called the dealer and what he learned was that after replacing the lock it had to be retrained/relearned (one or the other?). In order to do this it needed to be taken to the dealership or to someone that has the knowledge and equipment to do such a thing. He was also told that when any one of the locks are removed that it effects all of the locks on the vehicle, so in turn all of the locks have to be relearned. The dealer quoted him a price of $150.00 to do this.Luckily he had a friend who owned a repair shop who was able to do the procedure for about $50.00.This friend used to be a GM service tech for many years up until a few years ago, so this is why he was able to do it. Your average run of the mill repair shop would not likely be able to do such a thing. Hoping this helps you.
