Just when you happily exit the grocery store, thinking you saved money, you suddenly see an unattended shopping cart zooming toward the side of your 1994 Honda Accord. Before you can stop it, the cart smacks the side of your car. Upon reaching the Accord and removing the cart, you notice a big crack in the side marker. There goes the money saved on groceries. However, you can still save on the repair bill by installing a new side marker yourself. With a few tools, the repair can be done at home in 30 minutes or less.

Step 1
Raise the hood on your Accord and remove the negative cable from its post on the battery with a socket wrench. Once it is removed, position the cable away from its post and lay it down along the side of the battery. The negative (-) cable on the battery will have a small minus symbol right next to it on top of the battery.

Step 2
Remove the screw from the clip on top of the front side marker with a Phillips screwdriver. Place the screw in your pocket for safekeeping.

Step 3
Grasp the front and the side of the side marker, then pull it towards you using minimal force because there are still wires attached to it.

Step 4
Disconnect both of the light sockets from the side marker. Rotate the light sockets a quarter turn counter-clockwise and withdraw them from the side marker. Do this carefully if the bulbs still work so that you don't cause them to blow from being mishandled.

Step 5
Install the new front side marker by reversing all of the removal steps.
Rear Side Marker

Step 1
Follow the same procedure for disconnecting and isolating the negative battery cable.

Step 2
Remove the small screw on the right side of the rear side marker with a Phillips screwdriver. Do not loose the screw because most new rear side markers do not come with a securing screw.

Step 3
Pry up the rear side marker on the screw side of it with a flat-head screwdriver and remove the marker from its mounting position. When you install the new marker, the left side goes in first.

Step 4
Remove the light socket from the marker by rotating it a quarter turn counter-clockwise as well. Carefully withdraw the bulb from the marker to avoid breaking the bulb off or blowing it if it still works.

Step 5
Reverse all of the removal steps to install your new rear side marker.

I guess you would have to answer that. Consider where you live and normally commute, and will you install the a/c system or have someone install it? I installed the Honda a/c system on my '94 Accord DX when it was new...it was the easiest install I ever have done. All of the parts fit like a glove, flawless. Good luck
