Behind the water pump pulley. The water pump is small so the water pump pulley covers the entire pump so you can't see it. Once you remove the serpentine belt and the water pump pulley, the pump is easily accessible.
Not sure on a '94, but on a '90 w/ a 1.6 you just remove the pulley bolts on the water pump, take off the pulley and belt, remove the thermostat housing on the side of the water pump, and then remove the water pump bolts. After that you can take off the water pump.
pulley puller
Remove serpentine belt, alternator, and power steering pump. Remove 4 water pump pulley bolts. Remove water pump housing bolts. Remove water pump.
Drain coolant Remove 4 bolts that secure fan and pulley on water pump Remove Belts Slide fan and pulley off water pump shaft Loosen and remove bolts securing water pump Remove coolant hoses if required Remove water pump Clean engine surface before installing new pump and gasket ya what he said......lol
The water pump is driven by the pulley and serpentine belt on the left side of the engine. You'll need to remove the water pump pulley to access the water pump housing bolts. You may need to remove other pulleys to access the bolts. Replace the water pump gasket to prevent leaks.
Here is the procedure to do the job. 1 - Drain the cooling system until the coolant is below the level of the water pump. 2 - Remove the guard for the drive belt. 3 - Loosen the bolts for the water pump pulley (do not remove them yet). 4 - Remove the drive belt. 5 - Remove the bolts for the water pump pulley. 6 - Remove the water pump pulley. 7 - Remove the bolts for the water pump. 8 - Remove the water pump. 9 - Remove the water pump gasket. 10 - Clean the water pump mating surfaces. Reverse the procedure to install the new pump, making sure you use a new gasket. Refill the cooling system & check for leaks.
To remove the water pump on a 3.4 or 3.1 V-6 simply remove the 4 bolts from the water pump pulley, remove the drive belt, them use a large screwdriver and pry just a little and rotate and pry until the pulley pops off. May use penetrating oil, the center of the pulley sometimes gets stuck on the water pump.
In order to remove the water pump on a 2000 Mazda Millennia, you must first remove the timing belt and the pulley for the water pump. Remove the pump itself by detaching the four bolts that are securing it. Next, replace any gaskets, install the new pump, then the pulley, and then the timing belt.
how to change a water pump Kia Sedona 2002
You need to remove the entire power steering pump. There are two bolts holding it on at the 12 and 6 o'clock position. Remove these via the holes in the power steering pump pulley. (no need to remove the pulley) Push the pump to the side and you then have access to the water pump bolt. Hope this helps. "G"
