it is a very difficult procedure and requires a few special tools and it would be better not to attempt it yourself because if you damage the heads trying to repair it .the heads will need to be removed and the cost will be between 2-3 thousand dollars my advise would be to take it too a Ford dealer they have all the tools and experience needed to repair these engines
Screwed into the heads.

I read that article about the plugs for the expedition. I assumed while i was reading it, that he was referencing the "aluminum heads". I might be wrong, but that's what i got from it. Dave

how to change spark plugs on a 2001 expedition
you most likely got yourself a blown head gasket check for water out your tail pipe
The heads themselves have NO freeze plugs in them. But the block/engine has 8 freeze plugs in it.
No, they are in the engine block, not in the heads. Freeze plugs are a misnomer. They are actually casting plugs.
hello, i own a 99 Eddie Bauer and if they are the same motor which i think they are then your plugs are on top of your engine heads but below your coil packs. you will need to take the one screw out of your coil pack and your plugs are under them.
at the end of the heads
Where and how do you find the spark plugs for a 1997 ford expedition?
They are in the heads where the exhaust manifolds are bolted to the heads. The plugs have rubber wires hooked to the ends of them.
