This just happened to me. open the "bonnet" of the car, and on the passenger side, closest to the dashboard, there is a "positive" point, with a black rubber cover, where you can place the positive end of the jumper cable and attach the negative to any part of the car. Once you give it a little juice, the trunk can be opened, and you can then get the battery charged the normal way.
It took us two weeks to figure this out. LOL
When your car is in valet mode the trunk cannot be opened with the trunk release button. Your car came with 3 keys, two black ones and a green one. The green one will start the car, and unlock the doors, but it won't open the trunk. That way you can put your Rolex and gold bars in the trunk without having to worry about the valet at the restaurant stealing them.
pretty sure you can use the valet key that is tucked up inside the key fob to unlock the door.
Make sure you are not using the valet key. Amanti's come with a set of keys (2) that can unlock everything, driver's door, glovebox and trunk lid. There is also a third key designated for valet use, allows you to disable trunk release and then lock glove box with master key. This way the valet cannot look throughout the trunk or glove box but he can lock the car and start it.
No you cannot. that key is only used to unlock the door or trunk from the outside, or lock the glove box.
Valet mode disables the electric trunk release and the "home link functions" for security reasons when valet parking. The "valet key" will not open the trunk
My 1998 Lexus LS400 has a small lever to pull that releases the trunk. The lever is on the left side of the dash about 8 to 10" from the door. This lever can be locked with the key, so that the trunk cannot be accessed without unlocking the lever with the key. Note that the Valet Key cannot be used to unlock this lever. Note that the gas fill door release is to the left of the trunk release lever.
It sounds like you only have a "valet key" My valet key is green. The main key is black. The valet key will not open the trunk or the glovebox. If you do not have a main key you should be able to get one from a dealer using the VIN #
It Locks your trunk and gas tank so that when you give a valet the valet key all they can do is open the door and start the car ... that way you can leave things in the trunk and not worry about a valet stealing them the valet key is the one that is grey or round depends on which Honda you have
The trunk is locked and the engine power is reduced so the valet can't drag race your car, or take things you locked in your trunk.
Its a valet key because it does not allow access to the trunk and glove box.
You can use the unlock button on your key fob or on the dashboard inside the car, but I am guessing you want to know how to unlock it manually. Simple. Just take your key and detach the valet key via the grey button on the top of the fob. you will be left with a regular metal key. Insert this into the hole in the trunk (It is under the little lid where the trunk handle pops out) and turn it. If you turn it the right way, the trunk should pop open.
Won't the valet key open the trunk
