In the early days of Wiki s (then called FAQ Farm) in 2002, we did allow them, but we ended up with long lists of people asking "What about my situation?" and adding lots of personal details that would only apply to themselves. Instead of straight questions and answers, we ended up with long threads of discussion.
The goal of Wiki s is to co-operatively build a huge free resource of questions and answers. To do this, we want questions to be general, such as "Is morning sickness a symptom of pregnancy?" not "Am I pregnant? Here are my symptoms ..." This way the answers become useful for the internet public.
Currently we allow for our expert users to add rich media & links to their Answers contributions. Expert users are authoritative contributors in their respected categories. Feel free to contact us if you are a candidate as expert within an Answers category.
