Pull the "Derby Cover" Inspection Plate on the Primary side of the scooter-- in the middle of the clutch hub, you'll find a 9/16 lock-nut, with a screw in the center. Break the 9/16 nut loose, and turn the adjustment screw in the center of that nut, CLOCKWISE, until it feels like it " starts to get resistance against it, back the adjustment screw out until it' feels like it's no longer in a bind, while holding the screwdriver in it's EXACT POSITION, Re-Lock the 9/16ths nut against the screw. If the clutch is actually "Slipping" you may need to dissassemble the clutch-hub, inspect the clutch disks for wear,(should be AT LEAST 1/16th of clutch material on the disk)--- Clean and "Scuff" the discs with some320 wet/dry paper, inspect the clutch steels for warpage or scoring due to worn discs, then re-assemble to specs from your manual. I usually turn my "Clutch Tension Nuts" until there's about 3/8ths to 7/16ths of an inch protruding through the nuts(Attention!!!) The adjustment nuts, are the one's that have a "SLOT" in them, and if slippage is still a factor, turn those adjustment nuts, ONE CLICK AT A TIME,clockwise all the way around the outter adjudtment ring, until you have reached NO MORE than 7/16ths of an inch pertruding on the end of he adjustment studs--- and more, will cause the tension springs to collapse, resulting in severe clutch slippage, and you're back to square one. There should be AT LEAST 1/16th to 1/8th inch "Free Play" in your clutch lever, anything less indicates a "Full Time" Engagement of the the throughout bearing rod, that runs through the center of the "Clutch-Hub" assembly--- good luck--- sounds difficult, but it's actually an Easy Task, and can be done by he most novice of H-D Mechanics.
