There should be two screws on the carb that you can turn to control air and fuel in the mixture. I wouldn't play with it if i didn't know what i was doing because if you get it wrong it will be very hard to get it back right. Get someone to help you out.

Then again, nothing ventured, nothing gained. The air screws adjust idle and off idle throttle opening, the needles on the throttle valves and the MAIN jet control mid-range (1/4 to 3/4 opening) and the MAIN jet controls 3/4 throttle to Wide Open Throttle (WOT). So if it is an idle mixture you need to adjust turn the air screws. To do that, carefully close them until you feel a slight resistance. This is the closed position. Open them to their original position or set them to 1-1/2 turns open for an initial setting. Make both carbs the same opening turns.

The Air Screws are just that: they adjust the air that mixes with fuel for idle/off idle. Initially set them to 1-1/2 turns. If the engine dies from running a tad lean, close the air screws 1/8T to 1/4T. When you goose the throttle and it "gasps" or backfires, then it is lean- you need to close the air screws a bit. If, on the other hand it is running rich and you have to rev it to clear it out, you need to open the air screws a bit to add more air and lean the mixture slightly.

Make sure the throttle valves in both carbs open the same, remain at very similar positions at rest and while opening the throttle. Adjust the throttle valve stops on the carbs to make them the same. Adjust the cable adjustments to make them the same at, say, 1/2 throttle position.
