depends on the year some adjust and some just torque all the way down... If they do adjust turn the motor one full revolution while watching the rocker arms. each of the rockers will go down then up.when one goes down the other will go up.then when they are both up back the rocker arm adjusting nut off until the pushrod spins . Tighten the nut slightly until the pushrod stops spinning then give the rockerarm nut one full turn.Do this by putting the ratchet handle at the 12:00 position and pull the handle around to the 6:00 position.then turn the ratchet back to the 12:00 position and pull down to the 6:00 position do this and that is one full turn. Then feel the rockerarm to see if it is tight.if it is still loose just give another 1/4 turn...Do this cold...And remove all of the sparkplugs...
The motor mounts on a 4.3 Liter Chevrolet will not work with a 5.7 liter engine. The motor mount from the 4.3 Liter will not be strong enough to hold the weight of the 5.7 liter engine.
whenever you can hear the motor ticking or clicking
Yes it is. I know this by experience. Timing jumped and bent the valves
The valves on the twin cam are non-adjustable, they use hydraulic lifters.
it has 210 hp
How do you install a starter in a 1977 Chevrolet Caprice Classic with a 5.7 liter motor?
There is no adjustments to be made as the computer does it all. If you were to increase the idle speed then in turn you have changed the throttle positioner and that will truly mess up the party.
That would be the 4L60E transmission.
yes
Depending on what motor it is, the most common being the 350, you should want to to start by putting the motor on top dead center, compression stroke. then using the firing order,1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Adjust the valves in that order, by turning the crank a quarter of a turn, you will bring each cylinder to tdc individually. Start with number one then move in that order. You want to set the valves at zero lash then give them a third to a half turn further after reaching zero lash.
no it is an interference motor ans will likely bend valves in the timing belt goes
no the valvesn will not be damaged this is not a intefearance motor
