You require a clutch alignment tool. They are called Matra tools. The id number for that tool is Matra tool 529/1. You can't do this at all without that alignment tool.
A clutch.
To change the clutch you need to remove the engine, the transmission or both. The clutch is BEWEEN the engine and transmission and you can't get it off without separating them.
The torque converter and clutch are the point where the engine and the transmission engage.
To replace the clutch you must separate the engine and transmission. For a front wheel drive vehicle, separating the engine and transmission can only be accomplished by removing the engine.
Every time you engage the clutch, the clutch disengages from the transmission/engine. Which in term engine revs up, until you disengage the clutch.
Of course you are coasting. The clutch has disengaged the transmission (no matter what gear) from the engine.
clutch
To engage or disengage the engine from the transmission.
Clutch disc, pressure plate, transmission shaft,
The torque converter is located between the engine and transmission. The clutch packs are inside the transmission. This car has no mechanical clutch as it is an automatic. There is also a clutch mounted on the front of the A/C compressor.
you need a clutch that's all
Installing the transmission after it has been removed in order to replace a clutch or the transmission itself. "Stabbing" comes from act of inserting the shaft of the transmission through the clutch during installation of the transmission. It can be difficult simply because the transmission is heavy but also because the splines have to line up exactly right before the transmission will "stab" the clutch. Below is a picture of the transmission shaft and splines. With the clutch mounted to the back of the engine on the flywheel, the trans has to slide all the way into the clutch and the bell housing of the transmission has to mate completely flush with the engine bell housing,
