The Henry Lever action .22 is a great firearm. I have one myself, it is extremely accurate and smooth. The Henry rifle is also of very durable and well made. It should only decrease in value about twenty dollars from the original price once you buy it(250-230$).

It is under the lever. Lift up the lever as if you were going to cock it and look at the number engraved. That's the serial number of the firearm.
