How do you bleed air from the cooling system of a Chrysler Concorde?

The bleed screw is by the thermostat housing it looks like a brake bleed screw

How do you replace the thermostat on a Chrysler 2.7 engine?

You have to remove the alternator and the oil dipstick tube (put a plug in the dipstick hole to keep antifreeze from getting in the oil) then remove 3 bolts from the thermostat housing (on the side of the block behind the alternator) put the new thermostat in with the spring entering inward (into the block) and with the air bleed hole straight upward and re-install alternator etc. in reverse order of removal.

You have been using water instead of antifreeze in your Saturn sl2 1993 what should you do?

Pray that you have no problems from the corrosion that was more than likely caused by using plain water. Antifreeze does more than just protect from freezing and overheating. It also acts as a lubricant for the water pump, and prevents corrosion. Drain all the water out, replace the thermostat, and pour in a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water. Bleed all air from the system. -------- +1. the system does not have to be bleed though. S-series will bleed themselves. Also replace your Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor while your in there. thermostat is 195F and 20 bucks at the dealer

How do you get heat in a 1990 Chevy Lumina APV if replacing the thermostat did not help?

Make sure antifreeze level is not low. And also "bleed" air from the cooling system. Look for bleeders where water hoses enter the engine. (might be one right on the thermostat housing).

How do you replace the thermostat on a citroen 2.0 hdi?

remove thermostat housing two bolts and replace with new and seal...replace fluid with 50/50 antifreeze and bleed system including heater. bleed screws pretty obvious on water hoses ie heater in and out of bulkhead, blow in header tank with bleeds open, reseal and should be ok

Where is the thermostat on 2002 Chrysler concord?

The thermstat is on the bottom hose. The flow of water is opposite of most other cars. Don't forget to bleed the cooling system when you fill it back up.

How much will it cost to repair a thermostat on a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix?

Thermostat replacementI received a quote for my 2000 Grand Prix 3.6 from the Chevrolet Dealer and it was around $300.00, for drain/fill antifreeze and removal/replacement of thermostat. I did my own for around $25.00, cost of thermostat, gasket and antifreeze. I took some short cuts and works fine just remember you have to bleed the air from the cooling system with the little screw on the top of the thermostat housing. If not the engine will over heat and you will have an air lock in the engine cooling system and it will lock-up.

How to fix a 1996 Honda civic radiator hose?

You don't fix it you replace it. Drain the radiator, replace the hose, and the thermostat, flush the system, install a 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and water, bleed the system.

How do you change the thermostat on a 2000 1.25 fiesta zetec?

disconnect the battery and remove the alternator, remove the air con compressor (if fitted), remove the 2 pipes fitted to the housing of the thermostat and let the anti freeze drain into a container, undo the 4 bolts for the thermostat housing and remove the thermostat, clean the sealing area and fit in reverse order and bleed the antifreeze when filled up

What all has to be taken off if 2001 Chrysler Sebring convertible 2.7 engine to replace the thermostat?

The Thermostat is not located in the conventional position at top off engine, but rather is at the bottom right side of engine "copilots side". Follow lower radiator hose to where it attachs to engine. Probable don't need a new gasket as it is reusably. You will loose all the antifreeze in the radiater unless you collect it. Install thermostat, refill with NEW antifreeze from top radiator hose into radiator and in cooling tank. Bring engine up to operatiing temperature and wait till fan comes on so that you know its hot. Make sure tank is full, add as needed. Then open air bleed screw at top of engine where upper radiator attaches to. Keep open until all air is out of system. DON"T BURN YOURSELF. Use a short hose attached to bleed screw and a small bottle to catch antifreeze. Hose should be at bottom of bottle with some antifeeze in it. You will see air bubbling out. Once all air is out and there is a steady stream, close bleed screw. After a few days of driving, bleed air out again.

How do you add antifreeze to a 1989 735IL?

You add 50/50 antifreeze water mix at the reservoir in your engine compartment. It is located centered, under the windshield. This engine has to have the air bleed out very well. With engine OFF, turn the heater controls to maximum heat. On the thermostat housing, where upper radiator attaches, there are two thermosensors, with electrical connections and a 19mm plug in between them. Remove this plug and it's compression washer, add your antifreeze mix slowly to the reservoir. When you see antifreeze come out of this port, reinstall the plug with washer. There is a small bleed bolt, I think 8mm, that needs to be loosen. It is located on the top of the thermostat housing. Add coolant until it runs freely from the bleed bolt, then tighten it. Continue to add antifreeze mix to proper level in reservoir. Install cap in reservoir and start engine. Turn heater fan on max and monitor the temp gauge. You might have to repeat the bleeding process.

Why does heater not blow hot air on 1997 trans am on real cold days?

Thermostat stuck partially open or heater core clogged. Drain and flush the entire cooling system. Replace the thermostat. Install a 50/50 mix of fresh antifreeze and distilled water, and bleed air from the system.
