First of all, go to your therapist and stop all types of contact with your abusive partner. You have to learn to defend yourself and if you need any police assistance then don't hesitate to call police. Find new friends and involve yourself in non romantic relationships.

Carefully! Don't discuss it, make sure you have somewhere to go and leave quietly, preferably when they are not around if you live with one. If you try to tell them you are leaving they will go into a panick, rage at you and more than likely convince you to stay by begging, playing the victim etc. I left, it took weeks of planning and carefully getting my stuff out bit by bit without him noticing. I had tried many times to break up with him but it was messy each time ending up with the police being called by the neighbours becasue of the shouting and threats they could here coming from him, good luck and be strong you can do it ... Get moving on gathering resources to leave. You are setting yourself up for some really hard times by staying there. Don't make it public that you are planning on moving out, that will make it worse. Take your time if possible, create a plan, set timelines, gather as much money as you can, leave behind what you can live without. Find a safe place and pick the right time to leave. Trying to leave in a hurry without any planning rarely works. If their is violence involved you must leave as soon as possible and find a place to stay with someone you trust and is willing to help you.
