I don't have a 04 ram but on my 98 there's 2 torx screws on the inside of the tail light when you lower the tailgate they are exposed so just pop em out and gently pull the break light assembly out of the housing and there should be 2-3 bulbs just pull the one that you need to replace and make sure you match it up to the old one just to be safe. can't see there being much of a difference but i may be wrong as the assembly is a little bit different than the older style ram's however the process should be the same or a little different but not by much hope this helps
