Siphon most of the gas out of the tank. Raise car safely. Loosen tank straps and drop tank enough to disconnect fuel lines, electrical wires, and filler neck, then drop tank to the ground with the help of an assistant.Unscrew the metal retaining collar using a brass punch to avoid sparks then remove the fuel pump assembly. On an older models, I have replaced them with a good used one from a salvage yard for 75.00 vs new for $400.00. But that is your call.It is handy to have a good floor jack and some wood blocks to help in holding the tank while you remove the wires, hoses, etc. Reverse the procedure to install. I hope this helps you. Mark
