Located in fuel tank - probably have to drop for access

Fuel pump is in the tank but you have to remove the rear seats to access a metal cover under the lower part of the seats. Under this cover with a wire set running in the middle of it is a short connector to the pump's electrical connection. Disconnect it and try to start the engine to ensure the pressure on the high pressure line is low. There is a "banjo" bolt which is hollow and allows the gas to travel up through it and into the fuel line to the engine, remove it and keep the area clean with the 2 brass hers on either side of the fuel line. Remove the return line from the connector on the plate bolted down to the gas tank. Remove the nuts holding the plate to the tank. Turn the plate while lifting it to get the pump and plastic filter out of the tank. Empty the remaining fuel from the pump to the plate back into a container. Remove the electrical connector to the pump by carefully removing the plastic safety clip then remove the connector. The pump and filter are easy to remove once you remove the upper hose from the pump to the plate. Turn the filter with the pump while trying to remove it from the mounting bracket to allow both to be free of the bracket. The filter is retained to the pump by a compression nut to the pump. Retain the old rubber on the bottom of the pump to use with the new pump. Installation is the opposite of removal.
