Disconnect the battery, disconnect the two connections to the starter soleniod, then remove the top & bottom mounting bolts.
The top bolt is difficult till you discover the trick:
Remove the battery, then the access plate underneath (about 4" x 6"). Just reach through to remove the top bolt, or to easily hold the bottom one while someone removes the nut.
Just replaced one in 2 hours with our 15-year-old, including 30 minutes figuring this out

Disconnect the - battery cable Raise and support the vehicle Disconnect wiring harness ar top of starter Remove mounting bolts and drop starter
Remove wiring remove the 2 bolts holding the starter to the engine,remove the starter,you might want to remove the air filterhousing and inlet hose.
it is located by the frame next to your front tire. You can put your truck on ramps to get under there and change your starter.
