disconnect battery, get under passenger side of truck and take of the 2 torx head bolts (I had to buy a female torx socket to fit the bolt heads). That's the easy part, next comes snaking the starter up alongside the engine to the top where I could remove battery cable and solenoid wire.

reverse the order to install new motor, it takes a few minutes to connect wires and an amazingly long time to get starter into place. After that, a few seconds to install and tighten the two bolts and you are done!
